The F.A.S.T. song tells you what to do.

About This Project

The American Heart Association launched a campaign called The F.A.S.T. Song to teach the warning signs of stroke. Fewer than one in ten people know what the F.A.S.T. acronym stands for and one in three people can’t name any sings of stroke. The F.A.S.T. song helps people learn the most common warning signs of stroke and what to do if one occurs:

  • If someone has a stroke near you, the F.A.S.T. song tells you what to do.
  • The letter "F," it stands for face, if one half droops, no time to waste.
  • The letter "A" means an arm that's weak, the letter "S" means it's hard to speak.
  • The letter "T" means it's time for 9-1-1, call right away so help will come.
  • Learn the song to show you care, and help end stoke each time you share.

Hip Hop Artist Dee-1 and Tha Hip Hop Doc Rani Whitfield, M.D., collaborated to make their own version of The F.A.S.T. song for World Stroke Day 2015.

After their original production crew had to back out, Tha Hip Hop Doc reached out to us. We had a couple of hours to get everything together and 3 hours to shoot the video.

The AHA was thrilled with the result.

The F.A.S.T. Song is currently playing in over 2,000 hospitals on the HeartChannel.
